Williams, who is known to nearly all of the people of Minier. The deceased was born in Madison Co., KY, March 2, 1828 and died at Eldorado Springs March 4, 1896, aged 68 years, 2 days. He came to Eureka, Il. in 1834 and about 24 years ago married Jane Friend who died in June 1885. In 1862 he enlisted in the 94th Illinois Vol. Inf. Co. I, but was discharged the following year on account of a disability. He leaves four sisters Mrs. Jos. Reed, Miss Salle Williams of Minier, Mrs. Swearingen of Kansas City, and Mrs. Gutluge of Eldorado Springs. He also leaves a wife, whom he married 3 years ago. He was a member of the Christian Church from his youth.
