Mr. Friend was born Dec. 30, 1887, in Clinton, MO., and came to Oklahoma as a young man. He was a retired farmer and belonged to the Mound Valley Baptist Church, located between Welch and Miami. Survivors include three sons, Orlie P. Friend, Bartlesville, Bill Friend, Ramona, and Clifford Friend, Osage; one daughter, Mrs. Lorene Rose, Bartlesville; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Thomas Funeral Chapel, Welch, with Rev. Lloyd Carder officiating. Burial will follow in the Welch Cemetery, under the direction of the Thomas Funeral Home, Welch. Roy R.
