Also company H, 5th US Calvery, Discharged at Baltimore, Maryland, March 1865. In 1925 the family lived at 2902 North 1st st, east Chattanooga TN. This is the address when Joseph died. Also a POW at Florence, SC captured at Bever Dam? Station VA May 10, 1864. Think he was released Dec of 64 at Charlston SC, reached Annapolis, Maryland Dec 17, 64. He was at Baltimore National Hospital on March 10, 65. Description: five feet, six in, light skin, blue eyes, light hair at age 81. In march 1865 he was five feet nine inc. John J. Delaney, of Roane co. TN reported he had seen Joseph at Andersonville (GA) prison. He said that Joesph's feet burst open from Scurvy, and "was being lead around blind". William Bowling, also of Roane co. Tn. reported the foot problem but also reported "sore Eyes", that Joseph was almost entirely blind. In 1915, Joe lived at 602 east Chatt.
