a. Note:   He served in the Civil War; Pvt. Co. A 2nd Reg. Tenn Inf. Vol., Union. Wife Rebecca tried to draw a pension from Civil War. She had problems with her hands & fingers. She had a Grandson, Samuel Braden, age 22. Samuel declares his late wife was Sarah Leffew & their marriage was recorded at Kingston, Tn. Discharged at Knoxville Oct. 6, 1864. Enrolled Aug 1861 at Kingston. Mustered in at Somerset Sept. 28, 1861.Also reported at Camp Dick Robinson in Rebecca's request for his pension. She said he was living at Rosalin, Tn. That she had been married twice before. He states that after the war he lived: Roane Co. Tn. 2 years Fentress Co. Tn. 5 years Wayne Co. Ky. Pulaski Co. Ky. He lists his pension # as 125662. Samuel bought land from his daughter Louisa in 1877, Pulaski Co. Ky., on White Oak Creek. Sam deserted his 2nd wife Rebecca.
