Note: Death cert is under Fredrick G. _NAMS: Gerhard Friedrich Terschuren Gerhard Frederick was named for his father , but preferred the name of Fred to the mispronunciations of Gerhard by his c ontemporaries. It was hped that he, too, would respond to his father's success ful business environment and his training was to that end. He marketed pro duce that came to San Francisco and was a purser on one of the river steamers , but neither of these jobs was right for him. He, in turn, managed the ranch for a time while his mother lived there, but, when the ranch was leased, he l eft to establish a small, independent hardware business of his own in Oakland , where he lived with his wife, Mae (O'Conner), and children, Justin and Ethe l. He died after a lengthy illness, December 3, 1961.
