a. Continued:   According to Bankston book, his succession is recorded in the
 Tangipahoa Parish Courthouse in Amite, File #17.
  Note from Ron Beatty: John Bankston served with the Continental Army
 with his father during the Revolution, and was also a veteran of the
 War of 1812, serving with the Louisiana forces.
  When he came to Louisiana, he and his sons and a daughter obtained
 sections of land in what are now Washington, Tangipaphoa, and St.
 Tammany Parishes, Louisiana. John and his wife, Henrietta, are
 buried in the Bankston-Dyson Cemetery on property adjacent to his
 homestead.
b. Continued:   The Jesse Bankston book says John died 9 Dec 1820. Ron Beatty's book
 says he died September 1813.
