Note:   Jesse Gotcher--Obituary in Redding Record Searchlight YUMA, ARIZ--Services for former Redding resident Jesse Newton Gotcher, 83, of Yuma, Ariz., will be at 2 pm Wednesday at McDonald's Chapel in Redding. The Rev. Dennis Benfield of Happy Valley Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be at Redding Cemetery. Mr. Gotcher died Wednesday, April 11, 2001 at Yuma Regional Medical Center in Yuma, Ariz. Born Jan. 15, 1918 in Wilderville, Ore., he lived in Shasta County for 40 years before moving to Yuma in 1991. He was a supervisor for California Department of Transportation, a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, a member of the Redding Moose Lodge and a member of the Shasta County Sheriff's Posse. Survivors include wife Hazel, sons Donald of Bend Ore.,and Larry of Yuma; brother Gordon of Yuma; sisters Alma Rawley of Paradise and Deena Nichols of Oregon; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
