Note: GLEN LAUTERMILCH As the great Will Rogers once said, "I never met a man I didn't like." This is what he would have said about Glen. "He never had a harsh word about anything or anyone, and he did not have an enemy in the world." He was always considerate of others and never liked to put anyone out for his own benefit. Born October 18, 1891 in Amboy Township, Hillsdale County, Michigan, he was the son of Gus and Ida (Beattie) Lautermilch. Glen spent his childhood attending school at Amboy Center district #4 and helping his father in his farming operations. He served in the Army at Camp Custer, Michigan with the 160 Depot Brigade, Battery B 40th Field Artillery. In 1921 he married Harriett Delphus Merryfield. Glen highly improved the farm and in addition to producing hay and various grains, he took great pride in his large herd of dairy cows, and later a large number of hogs.
