William Hancock stated that he was acquainted with Edmund Bliss from about 45 years ago (from childhood); that about March 1863 Edmund Bliss came home on a furlough from the army, with a broken arm - William Hancock stated that he was stopping at the same place with Edmund Bliss for the 30 days he was home on a furlough.
