Note: Cyril, about age 16, started working for various farmers in Madison Co., NY. Later he went to work at Jamesville Quarry outside of Syracuse. In 1937 he went to work for Brown-Lipe-Chapin, a division of General Motors. He retired in 1971, after working 34 years, many of those as Group Leader in charge of Receiving, for various divisions of General Motors, from Inland Division of General Motors. The family moved to Rural Retreat, Virginia in the Spring of 1972. He worked in Maintenance at Birdmont Manor (a nursing home) in Wytheville, VA part time for several years. He also was church custodian for the Rural Retreat Methodist Church for 15 years. After his wife retired, they moved to Wytheville VA, and spent the next years travelling part time in their motor home, seeing the country, until his health failed in 2000.
