a. Note:   Military History: After graduating from Government Radio School at Scott Field, IL, he was sent to Australia and later stationed in Buna, New Guinea as a code telegrapher. The last Government record shows he was a passanger on a B 25 Mitchell type aircraft, which was lost in a Ferring mission between Dobodura, south-west of Buna and Port Morsby, New Guinea. He was reported missing on Feb. 1, 1944 and was officially recorded as dead, Feb 2, 1945. The plane was discovered nineteen years later, during an army search mission for a civilian plane, on Mt. Kenevi. It was hidden by the heavy vegetation. Dog tags were recovered for Harold along with ten other flight companions. No individual identification was possible. The remains of the eleven men were buried at Arlington Cemetery in two caskets, carried on two horse drawn caissons. The procession was escorted by an honor guard from the First Battle groupat Ft. Myer. [
