Note: Lamar County Marriages 1841-1910 - Searchable Records http://gen.1starnet.com/ Joseph Evans was a blacksmith, likely a teacher of the trade, and a trader of sorts, traveling by wagon to Texas and bringing supplies back to Armstrong Academy (Choctaw). He did register as an intruder in the Choctaw Nation, Blue County, in 1871.
