Note: *went to McNairy Co TN as a young man with his father and family in early 1830's, settling on north side of Snake Creek. Name appears on old minute book of Clear Creek Church of Christ, McNairy Co TN
*James was in Henderson Co TN in 1850 census
*may have been in Humphreys community (?), Henderson or Chester Co TN
*James was a miller and farmer, lived near the McNairy-Henderson Co line, TN
*death caused by facial injuries suffered when a heavy scale weight was thrown at him, in the course of a brawl at a country store. He was managed to get home after being injured, but only home treatment was available.
*no record of burial/marker found in McNairy or Henderson Co cemeteries
