Note: oronary Heart Disease (Several Years) Our stepfather was a good man and raised us as his own. He is buried beside his first wife. Lacy was an Army veteran. We were very fortunate to have him as a father. He taught me to drive a tractor, boat and car and also how to water ski. We had wonderful times at home when all the family would gather for the holidays. We played ball in the back yard, flew model airplanes, there was even a gocart he bought for my son Eddie. Lacy had a lakehouse at Badin Lake and every week-end when he got off work on friday night we would head to the lake. He really love the place as did the rest of us.. He did retire from Everyready (Union Carbide) before he died but never retired at the lakehouse, he had too much to do at home to retire at the lake. He loved to have fish fries over there and have had as many as fifty to a hundred people there. What a special man to take a woman as his wife with four children, even though two were already married and raise the other two. He and his first wife had no children. Lacy was the only Grandfather my children Ramona and Eddie knew, My father and my husband Joe's father was deceased when they were born. Grandpa Long was the only "grandpa" me and my brother(Eddie) ever knew.... ***Ramona Berry Miller***
