She said "just put it on to cook in a cold pan." John and Annie Sanders spent their early years in Moore County but moved to Star North Carolina, Montgomery County. From Star they moved to Biscoe, Montgomery County, North Carolina where they lived on the Monroe place. The house stood where the Burger Shack stands now. He farmed for "Uncle Bill" Monroe and Elsie Shamburger, from there he moved to the mill village and then they moved to Rockingham, North Carolina.
