a. Note:   Guisseppantonio came to the US in 1882. His wife Cornelia came to America in 1888 with their daughter Mary. Shortly after they arrived, they changed the family name to Campbell because people couldn't pronounce their name. Also he felt if they were going to survive in this country, they needed to be American. He became Joseph, Cornelia became Nellie, and Campolieti became Campbell. They settled in Hulberton, Orleans County, New York. He worked as a quarryman, while his wife and children worked at home on the farm. Later they moved to Rochester, Monroe County, New York There is a copy of his birth certificate from Campobasso and a copy of his death certificate from Rochester, New York in my files.
