Note: Buried at Glenwood Cemetery Section 2, Lot 37 Grave #11 Obituary Notice, Lockport, New York Newspaper, Sept 1929 Hiram G. Hutchinson, 16 year old son of J. Gordon Hutchinson, 70 West Genesee St., died yesterday morning at the State Industrial School, Industry, while undergoing an operation for the amputation of a finger. The body was last night brought to this city where funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Kennedy Undertaking establishment. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery. Young Hutchinson was injured Saturday while working with a lineman at the industrial school. An axe which the lineman was using slipped and cut the end of the boy's left, little finger so badly that is was decided to amputate. Only a local anasthetic was used for the operation but it proved too much for the boys heart. The Hutchinson boy was sent to the school several months ago for running away. He was doing well at Industry, according to Children's Court Clerk Chester O. Baysor, who saw the boy during a visit to Industry in July. At that time the youth was working as an assistant electrician and told Mr. Baysor that he liked the work and his new home. Surviving besides the boy's father are three sisters and one brother, James, Helen and Dorothy Hutchinson and Mrs. Agnes Stevenson. The funeral of Hiram G. Hutchinson was held Tuesday afternoon September 24, 1929, from the Kennedy Mortuary at 2:30 o'clock, the Rev. George A. Jameson officiating. The bearers were Lloyd George, Ernest Vassaw, Herman Bower and William Richmond. Interment at Glenwood Cemetery. 1920 U S Census - New York - Niagara - Lockport - ED 78 - Image 5 Wyndham Lawn Home Hutcheson, Dorothy Inmate F W 10 Hutcheson, Hiram Inmate M W 6 Have a copy of his birth certificate in my files.
