Andrew M., Sarah A. and John W. Ward,. are step children to George McFarland Winnett. On page 8 of Genealogy of William and Sarah (Strange) Winnett book, it states that George was married to Mary Phillips on 25 Sep 1856. On page 15 of the same book,at the bottom of the page it lists a George Winnett age 22 born before 1830 as living with William & Rachel Winnett in 1850. I believe this was George McFarland Winnett as he was also married to Bathsheba Winnett, maiden name, they moving to Illinois 1863 or after, Bathsheba Winnett being born in Washington County, Pa, on 4 Sep 1834, Bathsheba dying 1877,buried Long Point Cemetery, Union Twp., Cumberland County,Illinois, George McFarland Winnett, died 19 Oct 1895 and is buried with Bathsheba, no children. Mary Phillips had to pass away prior to George and Bathsheba coming to Illinois. 1860Federal Census of Guernsey County, Ohio, lists George and Bathsheba, husband and wife with a child William Ward living with them. They may have brought the Ward child with them to Illinois, as George, after Bathsheba died, married a Ward.
