Note: Mrs. Brown said of this family: "I found only one will naming a son William while in Cambridge, Ohio. since Naomi's husband was listed as William Jr. and the will I found was written by John WARD, it is not likely they were of the same family. Time did not permit me to explore fully the Cambridge Courthouse records or the census records in Washington, DC, but I will give the ones I found that were pertinent to the WINNETT family. The 1860 WINNETT families of Guernsey Co, Ohio had WARD boys living with them. It is reasonable to consider them as sons of the widow, Naomi WARD, and I will so list them. Possibly the marriage records contain names of the older daughters listed in the 1840 census, Guernsey Co, Ohio, as the reading was 1 boy & 2 girls under 5 years of age. William WARD, Jr must have died between 1857 & 1860 as Naomi was listed in 1860 as a widow with the youngest child born in 1857. Supposing these to be children of William & Naomi WARD, I am including all news found about these children." William WARD also shows up as her husband in Beers History of Washington County on page 1345.
