(that story was told by Uncle Ray Winnett) Charles was a retired shop man for The Big Four R.R. in Mattoon,ILL.Charles had some mental problems and had almost killed Effie he had beatin her pretty bad in the yard of thier homeplace almost crushing her head Effie played possum an Charles had thot he had killed her went in to call his sister to tell her what he had done. he grabbed his gun went outside put it to his mouth an shot himself.
