a. Note:   His birth name was Sidney Shual Watterson. he was named for Dr. Hood who saved his life after he was born. After his birth he was never called anything but hood. He legally changed his name to Hood after WW2 Hood Watterson GROVER � Mr. Hood Watterson, 86, of 146 Watterson Road, Blacksburg, S.C., died Tuesday, March 19, 2002, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center in Shelby. Born in Cleveland County, he was a son of the late J.D. and Bessie Grigg Watterson. He retired as owner and operator of Watterson Plumbing, a member of First Baptist Church in Grover and served in the Navy during World War II. He is survived by his wife, Pauline Norman Watterson of Blacksburg; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Gene and Ruth L. Watterson of Akron, Ohio, and Richard Norman and Betty Watterson of Shelby; a daughter and son-in-law, Norma Kay and Jerry Bowen of Blacksburg; a sister-in-law, Myra Watterson of Shelby; and three grandchildren. The funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church with Dr. Tony Fulbright officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery in Kings Mountain. The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Harris Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, P.O.
