Note: Blacksburg Mary Reed Norman Conner, age 72, resident of 119 Lakeview Drive, Blacksburg, died June 17, 2002, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, N.C. She was a native of Cherokee County, and daughter of the late James Robert and Julia Morris Norman. She was owner and operator of Reeds Beauty Shop for 50 years. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Max, Roy and Lester Norman. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Blacksburg. R> Survivors: Husband, Eugene Conner, of Blacksburg; a son, Kenneth Eugene Conner and wife Mary Wray, of Greenville; daughters, Julia Ann Conner Cagle and husband Terry, of Boiling Springs, N.C., and Joan Conner Breazeale and husband Hal, of Taylors; brothers, Summie Norman of Kings Mountain and James E. Norman of Blacksburg; sisters, Pauline Watterson of Blacksburg, Margaret Smith of Kings Mountain and Ruby Huskey of Henrietta, N.C.; and grandchildren, Julia Lynn Cagle, Christopher Terry Cagle, Benjamin Conner Cagle, Rush Wray Conner, Patrick Norman Conner, Alexander Kenneth Conner and Conner Austin Breazeale. Funeral service: At Antioch Baptist Church today, June 19, 2002, at 11 a.m. The Rev. C. Vernon Craig and the Rev. Terry Dee Cagle officiating.
