Note: Lester Norman BLACKSBURG, S.C. - Mr. Lester T. Norman, 67, of 223 Rock House Road, died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2001, at Upstate Carolina Medical Center in Gaffney, S.C. A native of Cherokee County, S.C., he was the son of the late James Robert and Julia Morris Norman. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Blacksburg and was a lifetime member of the North American Hunters Association. He retired from Industrial Minerals Inc. in Kings Creek, S.C., and was a former employee of Fiber Industries in Earl. He served in the Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy Norman and Max Norman. He is survived by his wife, Mary Hawkins Norman of Blacksburg; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Carlton and Pamela Norman, Chris and Cindy S. Norman and Jeff Norman, all of Blacksburg; a daughter and son-in-law, Leslie Norman and Greg Jones of Summerville, S.C.; two brothers, Summie Norman of Kings Mountain and James E. Norman of Blacksburg; four sisters, Pauline Watterson of Blacksburg, Margaret Smith of Kings Mountain, Ruby Huskey of Henrietta and Mary Reid Conner of Blacksburg; and six grandchildren, Jessica Jones, Lacey Jones, Chase Norman, Carlie Norman, Bradley Norman and Brittany Norman. The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Antioch Baptist Church, with the Rev. Vernon Craig officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery Lester T. Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Antioch Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Vernon Craig. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 7-9 in the sanctuary of Antioch Baptist Church.
