Note: The younger brother of Emma Clarke. He migrated to Amertica, and settled in Napa Valley. Correspondence from Cecelia M. Setty nee Elkington in April 2009 - "I also have a copy of Anthony's Clarke's naturalization papers of 1873, stating that he had been in Napa County for 5 years as witnessed by James 'Elkinton' and a John Stevens. So that would make him coming over about 1868." "Anthony Clarke married in Napa to Mary Peterson Horne (a widow of Amos Horne) 17 Jan 1874. He died in Napa Co. 3 Aug 1904. She died 23 Oct 1918. They had Thomas, 7 Dec 1876, James Elbert 10 Dec 1878, Henry C. 23 May 1883, Lillian E. 12 Jan 1881, Wade 1885 died 1885, and Annie A. 18 Nov 1888; all born in Napa Co. "In Anthony's obit is states he came from a family of 12 children! At the time of his death, 1904, only 2 were left, Emma and a brother in England. Also it states that he came to America in 1863, to Conn. then California. I gave the place where his children were born as Napa, it should read, Dry Creek, Napa County, Ca."
