Note: s aged 16, in the 1900 Federal US census, aged 31, birth date Dec 1868 in Connecticut. Given the birth place and date of her brother William, this raises a query.

Correspondence from Cecelia M. Setty nee Elkington in April 2009 -
"Sarah Mildred, born: 15 Dec 1866, New London, Conn. Died: 23 Apr 1903 at Mt. Washington, Mo; Married: Spencer Alexander Farrington (he was born 4 Nov 1863 in Canada)."
"I checked with the granddaughter in Mo. last night about the conflicting dates of birth for William and Sarah. She said they were correct year and it was a family story. There is nine months between them!"
" ..she died ....23 Apr 1905."

Her earliest surviving child was born in 1893 in Missouri, which suggests that she migrated with her father's family in 1892. It is probable that their first child did not survive to 1900. In the later Federal US census her widowed husband and their children are recorded residing with Timothy Elkington, her father, and after his death with Emma A.
