Notes
a. Note:   Was a Republican & Effie Evelyn (his wife) was a democrat. Went together every year (1 time) to vote.
Dipped "Rooster" snuff - bought all "grocery and other essentials" from a rolling store that came by once a week.
He was adamantly against drinking in his older years. & one time when he was berating one of his sons about drinking, Effie (his wife) said "Why don't you tell him about the night you run the buggy off the bridge?" He never said another word that night about drinking. (told to Evelyn White Robertson by her father Donald D. White who was present during the conversation)
Always wore a flannel shirt and a rag on his head. He wore a felt hat and carried a 22 caliber pistol in his shirt pocket.
One day he fell in the well with an alligator and accidentally "winged" his foot with a bullet trying to shoot the alligator. (told to Evelyn White Robertson by her father Donald white.)
He pulled a weed called pussley to feed the rabbits that they raised.
He hid all of his money because he didn't trust the banks. Donald D. White (grandson) speculates that Ralph found a lot, if not all of it & spent it all. (see notes on George Alpheus Reese for a story about this.)
