 Requisition for clothing included in this record. Show that on March 31st, 1864 L.P. Reese requisitioned 1 coat at $14.00, 1 pair of pants at $12.00, 1 cotton shirt at $3.00, and 1 pair of socks at $1.00. This document signed by L.P. Reese.
 Was a member of Captain Crittenden's Company, Alabama Volunteers, 33rd regiment from March 4 to April 8th, 1862, as a Private. He was mustered out of Ozark, Dale County, Alabama for 3 years or for the duration of the War. Second muster roll shows L.P. Reese within the same regiment and company as of May 1st, 1862 in Pensacola, Florida. He was paid a $50.00 bounty at that time. Third Muster roll, shows him as a Private in Company "I", of the 33rd regiment of Alabama Infantry for January and February of 1863. Also shows him re-inlisting on March 14th, 1862 out of Greenville, Alabama for a period of 3 years. Show his last payment as October, 31st 1862. The remarks were that he was wounded and hospitalized in Murfreesboro, Tennessee as of (illegible) 1, 1863.
 Fourth muster roll is for March & April 1863 for the same company and regiment. Shows him as being absent and hospitalized ub Chattanooga, Tennessee, wounded in April or May of 1863.
 The Fifth muster roll is for May & June of 1863. Shows that he was present and last paid April 30th, 1862. Next Muster roll is for July and August 1863, shows L.P. Reese as present and last paid June 20, 1863. Then Next muster roll is for September and October of 1863, shows him as Present and last paid August 31st, 1863. There is a muster roll for November & December 1863 showing him present and last paid October 31st, 1863.
 Finally the last 4 muster rolls show the following information:
 (1) Prisoner of War department of the Cumberland, captured at Stone's River (Tennessee?) Forwarded to Nashville, Tennessee January 21st 1863. (2) Prisoner of War at Camp Morton, Indianapolis, Indiana - Captured at Murfreesboro, Tennessee January 5th, 1863 (and interestingly enough, they made an error in reporting his State as LA or Louisiana - instead of AL - Alabama - possibly transposed or first letter accidentally dropped. - This information shows up on the Camp Morton, index of Prisoners of War.) (3) Prisoner of War, Camp Morton, Indiana, delivered at City point. (4) Appears on a list of Killed, Wounded, and Missing in Cleburne's Division, Hardee's Corps. A. T. in the battle of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, December 31st, 1862. This roll is dated January 16th, 1863. It includes the note that L.P. Reese was severely wounded in the thigh.
  Private in Company " I " 33rd ALA Inf. Confederate States Army , Headstone states that he was a member of the 53rd. Received a gunshot wound to the hip which never healed. He was unable to work and suffered greatly until his death in 1855.
  He Signed on with Company " I " under Captian Needham Hughes company, Lawreys Brigade. They were mustered out of Dale County, Alabama.
  Belonged to the Masons according to the symbol on his headstone.
  Full name discovered on Social Security pension application for John Thomas Reese (son)
