Note: Story by Will Bailey WBailey@@worldramp.net Mary Hermine "Mimi" grew up in Mobile, Al. and attended Barton Academy. They lived in the old Partridge Home on Government Street, torn down in the early 60's. Her mother had made arrangements for her debut in Mobile Society, but she met Ernest in Demopolis, and ran off and got married. The photo taken in 1913 for her debut(to be in 1914) was then used as her wedding announcement. her mother was furious(she said) and being Roman Catholic, made them get married again in the Catholic Church, after being married in the Methodist Church in Faunsdale, Al. THE MOBILE REGISTER DECEMBER, 1913----Mobile, Ala. printed the following; " A few weeks ago, the Register printing the picture of this very lovely girl, announced that she would come "home" this winter to make her debut. Her Mobile friends who were anticipating her coming, will learn with surprise that before she was formerly introduced into Society, she had joined the ranks of the young married, as she was married the last day of November to Mr. E.M. Bailey of Faunsdale, Al. She was the only daughter of the late Thad J. Partridge of this city and since the death of her father has been residing with her mother, Mrs. Corinne Pegram Partridge in the old Pegram home in Demopolis, Al.
