Note: Lizzie Colgate Laurie was raised by her paternal grandparents since her mom died and her Aunt Ellen (her mom's sister) married her dad, James Laurie. They moved out to California and had a family so, Lizzie stayed with her grandparents in Kentucky and Tennessee. Her paternal grandparents were Rev. Dr. William Scott Laurie and Ann Eliza Tarbell Laurie. In some family trees she is known as Lizziole Laurie
