P. Sherman of cancer of the stomach at the age of 58 years. The deceased was born March 15, 1840 and was married to J.P. Sherman at Omadi, NE on October 16,1856. She has been a sufferer from cancer for a long time and her death was no surprise. She was the mother of twelve children. Eight of whom are living. Mrs. Mary Lessor, Mrs. M. T. Post, Frank, David, Cruso, Philo and William Sherman and Eva L. Post of Bloomington S.D. The funeral services were conducted in St. Paul's Episcopal Church at this place by Rev. Murphy on Sunday at 1 o'clock p.m. after which the remains were taken to the home farm on the Ponca reservation for interment. A large number of Niobrara people followed the remains to their last resting place. The Tribune extends its sincerest sympathy to the bereaved husband and children. Her death occurred Friday night, being occasioned by a long sickness and recent operation. The remains were interred on the homestead in Raymond Township.
