a. Note:   Irving Marcellus Darling and his wife and children operated various farms in the area surrounding Curtis Corner, New York until 1913, when they purchased a 62 acre farm in the town of Oppenheim, Fulton co., near Dolgeville. After Nettie's death, he sold the farm and Irving took over operation of the Williams farm located near Salisbury Center. There he stayed until his death in January, 1927. They were married in the Methodist Parsonage, in Fairfield, New York. Obit: Irving M. Darling, Dies from Injury; Funeral Tomorrow Dolgeville, Jan. 5 Irving M. Darling, who died yesterday at his home on the John Williams farm a short distance north of here after having been ill for several days of concussion of the brain will be buried tomorrow. Mr. Darling was born in the Curtis district of the Town of Salisbury, March 18, 1860, son of Luther and Alice Beals Darling. All of his life had been spent in the vicinity where he was engaged most of the time in farming pursuits. He had lived in this village for some years. He was married to Nettie Snell, whose death occurred in April 1921. He leaves four sons, Earl N. Darling of Albany, William and Ernest of this village and Clarence of Newark, N.J. one daughter, Mrs. John Roth of New York City; a brother, Henry Darling of this place; and four sisters, Mrs. John Schuyler of Inghams Mills, Mrs. Edward Drumm and Mrs. William Cairns of Utica and Mrs. George Dain of Rochester. The funeral will be held at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon from the E.W. Moore funeral home, the Rev. W.W. McWilliams of the Presbyterian Church officiating. The remains will be placed in the local cemetery vault.
