Note: "Sad Circumstances Surround the Death of Popular young Man." "Dolgeville. Oct. 18 - Floyd Darling died at his home here a few days ago of pneumonia. His death was a very sad one. He was well on the road to recovery from an attack of influenza when other members of his family became ill with the same disease and he arose to assist in their care. Two days prior to his death he went downtown to procure some medicine, and became very ill before he could reach home. He sank rapidly. Mr. Darling was 28 years old and was born in the town of Oppenheim, being the son of Mr. and Mrs. Irving Darling. All of his life had been spent in this section. For some time past he had been the driver of the Earl N. Darling auto bus operating between this village and Little Falls. He was a young man of sturdy, honest character and was a fine specimen of physical manhood. Besides his wife, he is survived by his parents; by four little children, all of whom have been very ill with influenza; by one sister, Mrs. Samuel Sweet, of this village; and by four brothers, Earl, William, Clarence, and Ernest Darling."
