a. Note:   Document Copy: His honor, Sir Thomas Saumarez(sp) President and Commander in Chief of the Province of New-Brunswick, &c. &c. &c. To Ann _ Mott Widow of Jacob S. Mott late of the City of Saint John, Deceased and John Robinson, Esq of the City aforesaid Greetings: Whereas the said Jacob F. Mott of the City and County aforesaid lately died intestate, as it is said, having whilst he lived and at the time of his death Goods, Chattels and Credits within this Province, by means whereof, the granting Administration of all and singular the said Goods, Chattels and Credits, and also the auditing, allowing, and final discharging the Account thereof, unto me only doth belong: In order therefore that the said Goods, Chattels and Credits of the said deceased, may be well and faithfully administered, applied and disposed of according to Law, I do by these Presents grant unto you the said Ann Mott and John Robinson Esq of the City County and Province aforesaid (in whose fidelity I do confide) full power and authority to administer and faithfully dispose of all and singular the said Goods, Chattels and Credits of the said deceased, and to ask, demand, recover, and receive whatever Goods, Chattels, Debts, or Credits, which to the said deceased whilst living and at the time of his death did any way belong; and to pay whatever Debts the said deceased at the time of his death did owe, or was chargeable with, so far as such Goods, Chattels and Credits will thereunto extend, and the Law charge you; you having been already sworn, well and faithfully to administer the said Goods, Chattels and Credits, and to pay the Debts of the said deceased, and to make or cause to be made, a true and prefect Inventory of all and singular the Goods, Chattels and Credits of the said deceased, and to exhibit the same Inventory into the Registry of the Prerogative Court of the said Province, at the City of St. John and also to render a just and true account of your Administration when you shall be thereunto required. And I do by the Presents make, ordain and depute you Administrators of all and singular the Goods and Chattels, Rights and Credits of the said deceased. In Testimony whereof I have caused the Prerogative Seal of the said Province to be hereunto affixed the sixteenth day of May in the fifty fourth Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Third by the Grace of God, of the United Kingdom of Great-Britain and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith &c. and in the Year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fourteen.
