Note: Isaac Cornwall served in the American caused during the Revolutionary War. According to documents on microfilm at the National Archives, Robert Cornwall "volunteered in March 1776 at Middletown, Connecticut and under Capt. Ralph Riley. Col. Mathew Talbott was marched to New York upon over to Long Island, where he served not up than one month. General Putnam commander - Again volunteered being exempt from Military in con again of ... at Middletown, under Capt. Churchill, Col. Comfort Sage, St. Col. Stone, Brig Gen. Wadsworth Commanded in July 1776, was marched to new York where he served not up than five months and was discharged. - He received no written discharge, and knows of no person whose testimony he can provide who can testify to his service that he was born in Middletown in 1750. Knows of no record of his age. Since the Revolutionary War he has resided in New Hartford, Connecticut, Bridgewater, New York, and LeRay where he now lives - that he preformed a few days service another times but for which he makes no claim." This is from his application for pension filed June 7, 1832.
