McGlumphy Named State Councilor 2 CONT Washington was honored yesterday with the election at the State Session 2 CONC of the Junior Order United American Mechanics in Pittsburgh of Gaylord E. 2 CONC McGlumphy, 259 North Franklin Street, as State Vice-Councilor. The local 2 CONC man, a veteran in the ranks of the Junior Order and a member of 2 CONC Friendship council No. 201, was opposed by Joseph J. Rehn, Johnstown,at 2 CONC the election held yesterday during the closing session of the three-day 2 CONC meeting in the Roosevelt Hotel. 2 CONT The new State Vice-Councilor has been a member of Junior Order for more 2 CONC than 18 years as Secretary of the State Law Committee. He has also 2 CONC served as State Representative of the local Council, Past President of 2 CONC District Council of Western Pennsylvania District Deputy of the 82nd 2 CONC District, and is now serving as Secretary of District Council of Western 2 CONC Pennsylvania. Roy D. Dare, Wilkes-Barre, was elected without 2 CONC opposition as State Councilor and Philadelphia was selected as the 1944 2 CONC meeting site. This is the first time a State officer has been named from 2 CONC Washington County since 1898. At that time the honor was held by Charles 2 CONC Crail, Monongahela. 2 CONT 2 CONT An Active campaign was waged in behalf of the local man by a committee 2 CONC composed of Noel I. McMullen, chairman; George Carter, R. A.Sampson, 2 CONC Harold Wagner and J. Willis Lightner. Attending as delegates to the 2 CONC State Session were the newly elected State Vice-Councilor. McMullen, 2 CONC representing Friendship Council and Harry L. McConnell representing 2 CONC Mizpah Council, no 361. He 2 CONC suffered a heart attack Sunday at 6:30 pm at his home and was removed to 2 CONC the hospital. 2 CONT Mr. McGlumphy was employed as an insurance agent of the Prudential Life 2 CONC Insurance company for the past five years. Previously he was the First 2 CONC Bank and Trust Company and the Washington Union Trust company. He had 2 CONC resided in Washington for 44 years. He was born at Nineveh June 4, 2 CONC 1902, a son of George M. and Carrie Courtwright McGlumphy, of 2 CONC Washington. Mr. McGlumphy was a member of Avery Methodist Church. He 2 CONC was past State Councilor of the Junior OUAM, Friendship Council 201. He 2 CONC is survived by his wife Irene Marshman McGlumphy; a daughter Lois Irene, 2 CONC wife of Robert Foringer, of Washington, and two sons, Gaylord Ralph and 2 CONC Robert Eugene, at home; his parents and a brother, Howard V.
