Note: Military Service: BET. 13 NOV 1814 - 13 MAY 1815 Capt. Patterson's Company, 1st Regiment West Tennessee Militia under command of Colonel Metcalf. Fought at the Battle of New Orleans, 8 January 1815. Honorably discharged 13 May 1815, discharge certificate signed by Major General William Carroll. Census: 1820 Living in Bedford Co., TN. The following is from a book written by Barry Lamb on the Falwell Family. It has a bunch of short family Histories and the one on the Falwell Family lists the children of Elisha and Elizabeth Falwell: Elisha Falwell and his wife Elizabeth came to Beford county, from Virginia, before 1812. Elisha was born 23 Nov.1776. His wife Elizabeth was born 14 Feb.1774 (1779?). Early Bedford County tax lists, 1812, indicate Elisha Falwell owned land in what was at that time within the area of Capt. John Byler's Company. The present day location is between Rover and Chapel Hill. At the time of his death 25 Jan.1857 he owned 112 and 1/2 acres and was bounded by his son Moses Falwell,William Osteen,and J.D.Ezell. Elisha and Elizabeth had six children. 1.Moses b.31 May,1803 d.18 May 1868 mar.Sarah alford b.31 Aug.1810,d.12,Sep.1848 list their children 2.Martha M. b. 24 Aug.1805, d. 28 Apr.1883 married Jason B. Sheffield, b. 2 Aug.1785, d.17 Mar.1874 3.William H. Falwell m.Matilda Elizabeth Little. They moved to Texas. He served in Hood's Texas Brigade. Matilda Little was daughter of John P.Little and granddaughter of Daniel Little of NC. 4.Mary married John W.Winters 5.Temperance b.1818 mar.Richard S. Rickman, children Elizabeth, Elisha, Susan, John, James, Martha, and Mary F. 6.John B. b.1819 married Mary P.Martin 1st and 2nd to Catherine (should be Charlotte) Rebecca Little. Charlotte Rebecca Little was the daughter of David G.Little and Mary J. (Webb) Little and grandfather was John Little and great grandfather was George Little.
