Note:   "The Stockton Project", a well-documented family tree posted on ancestry.com 2/6/2002, includes the following notes: Jasper Newton Stockton enlisted in the Missouri Cavalry on November 1, 1863, and served as a blacksmith for Unit I during the Civil War. He was discharged June 30, 1865, and is described as having dark hair and a dark complexion. He suffered an injury to a finger at Millville, Missouri, in 1863. He is listed as 'deranged' in 1894. The family received Federal Pensions from 1865 to 1915.
