a. Note:   teen came with his brother John HENRY (father of N J Henry) to New York. Resided in the middle states and Michigan until 1858, Married Margaret McDANIEL, Dec 3d, 1840. Moved from Michigan to Frederika, Bremer County, Iowa in 1858. His first wife died April 13th 1868 and in June 1869, he married Mrs. Sophia WHITMAN. Mr. HENRY has been for a number of years a terrible sufferer from kidney disease, which finally terminated his life July 27-1881 at the age of 69 yrs 6 mo 28 days. He leaves a wife and four children."
  Russell purchased 80 acres of land from his brother John in Bremer County, IA October 1868 according to the deed dated only one month before John died. Russell is shown in both the 1870 and 1880 Bremer County, IA Census. The 1870 Census includes his second wife, Sophia and the 3 youngest children.
