Committed suicide by inhaling illuminating gas on Friday after custody of Doris
had been awarded by Hudson County Domestic Relations Court to husband Ernest on
Tuesday. Couple had been estranged since previous October. Doris was to live
with her aunt at 682 Carlyle Pl, Union. Death occurred at her apartment at 121
Leonard Street in Jersey City where she lived alone. Two months before
her death she had been removed to the Medical Center after having taken
an overdose of sleeping tablets. Newspaper report says that she had
disappeared occasionally and had at one time been missing for more than
a week. Funeral was held from Leber Funeral Home, Union City with
burial at Fairview Cemetary, Fairview, NJ.
