Note: Came to U.S. 1950 with mother, father had come a year earlier. Lived in Mineola, NY until marriage in 1961. Had been going out with Lance Andrews when she met Ken at a party at the Andrews house in Long Island. Married Ken in Mineola. After marriage, they lived in New Milford, NJ until they moved to Peekskill, NY when Ken began working in Briarcliff, NY with Sabre. In 1970, they moved to Tulsa, when American transferred Ken. Chris was an executive secretary in New York City until her first child was born. After that she dedicated herself to her family. As the girls grew, Chris got herself involved in their every activity. First it was Brownies, later score keeper for 3rd and 4th grade softball. Then it was on to Girl Scouts, Susan's cello lessons, taxi service, basketball practice and games. Ken will never forget coming home from work and finding his living room, dining room, club room, and kitchen filled to the ceiling. An 18 wheeler tractor trailer unloaded its load of Girl Scout cookies. Chris had only told Ken that she was going to be a center for distribution, but not for all of southeast Tulsa. It turned out okay, the cookies were in by 3:00PM and all gone by 7:00PM. Despite all her family activities, Chris did take time for herself, she loved her bowling and playing bunko. Chris loved knitting sweaters, afghans and baby blankets for those she loved. One of her major tasks was meticulously hand sewing the beading on her three daughters' wedding gowns. She was an animal lover, she could never turn away a stray person or animal. The girls say that the cats were like her 4th and 5th children. She had great taste, she could always find the perfect gift for any person or occasion. She was a charter member of the Oklahoma Foster Care Review Board-CASA. Died as the result of a severe allergic reaction to the cats she had loved for years. Chris and Ken had owned cats for all the years they were married. Chris had bathed the cats weekly to minimize her allergic reaction. Was bathing cats when she had an attack and went into anaphalactic shock. Died the following day without regaining conciousness. Remains cremated.
