Note: Large, tall man with mustache. Had lost 2-3 fingers sometime in past. Very quiet, but funloving, good natured. Intellectual. Strong communist. Had worked as engineer on steamers and traveled to Europe several times. Later worked as an engineer(coal shoveler) on ferryboats to New York. Still later worked as painter and paperhnger. After retirement worked as superintendent or janitor in a factory where they had linen scraps. He would bring scraps to Bert to make towels. Family remembers model village he built for his living room and displayed each Christmas. All figures moved. Merry-go-round, skaters, ferris wheel. Ruth remembers the time Uncle Rudy hired a small wandering band to play for Pop's birthday party. Lived at 213 20th St., Union City just off Palisades Avenue, opposite reservoir.
