Worked as company librarian until retirement at about age 72, due to eye cataracts. Had surgery to remove cataracts. Although her eyesight was then good, she did not return to work. In 1910 was a member of the La Fayette Dramatic Club. On April 15th, 1910 the group presented a three act comedy "Three Hats" and held a dance at the Alhambra Hall. Amy played a part in the play and had her dance card filled for all the dances. Very active in Eastern Star order of the Amaranth. Short person - about 5' Never married. Lived at home and cared for parents Eventually sold house in Mount Vernon and entered old person's home in Hastings, NY where she died. Had private room with many of her own belongings. After working for over fifty years, getting up early every morning she resented being required to be at breakfast each morning at 8:00AM. Enjoyed visits to Warren & Doris house where she could sleep as long as she wished. Enjoyed making lunch for family. Funeral from Havey's Funeral Home, Yonkers, NY Buried Arlington Cemetery, Kearny NJ The will of Amy Munro, widow, dated January 1933 named Amy Congalton the executrix of her estate and willed to her, her property at 95 Hudson Avenue, Monmouth County, Red Bank, NJ, as well as all her jewels. It appears that Amy Munro died prior to Sep 1934, since Amy Congalton took out a $2000 mortgage on the property at that time. She eventually sold the property in 1946.
