Came to U.S. by way of Toronto. 1851 Canada Census shows a Marg Melville,born in Scotland,Prespyterian,age 16 living in Town of Fullerton,Perth County with a farmer Alex Melville,age 40 and his wife Elizabeth age 38 both born in Scotland and 6 other younger children. Lived in log house, 1 story, 1 family. Since Marg was listed last after the youngest child it appears that she came to live with relatives. According to Frank ONeill, John & Margaret Congleton came from Ayr, Scotland which is on the west coast of Scotland.
