Note: Death notice: Friday, March 29, 1974 Earl Gary, 78, of Traverse City passed away this morning at the Grand Traverse Medical Care Facility. Complete funeral arrangements will be announced by Martinson Funeral Home, Traverse City. Obituary: Gary -- Earl Francis Gary, 78, of 131 E. Seventeenth St., Traverse City, passed away Thursday, March 28 at the Grand Traverse Medical Care Facility following a long illness. He is survived by one brother, Irvin Gary of Traverse City; one sister, Annie Burnett of Springfield, Ore.; one daughter, Maxine McWaine of Traverse City; three sons, Norman, Francis, and Dale, all of Traverse City; several grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, James and Ella Gary; his wife, Margary; one daughter, Helen; and one son, Lyle. Mr. Gary had been born Dec. 13, 1895 in Nebraska and was married in Vicksburg, Mich. He served in World War I. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, March 30 at the Martinson Funeral Home, Traverse City, with the Rev. Wayne Squires officiating. Interment will be made in Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
