There were about 70 members and friends present. It was a delightful day and the committee on arrangemnts had planned everything for the comfort and pleasure of everyone. At 1:30 o`clock all were seated in the cool and spacious dining room to partake of a bountiful pot-luck dinner. After this there was a short business session with election of officers for the ensuing year. John Goff read some sketches from the history of the Goff family which dated back for nearly three hundred years, which he has traced back. He is still collecting dates and births up the present generation. The day was finished with a fine program of music, readings and recitations and a talk by Fred Crippin of Three Rivers. The guests departed to their several homes in Decatur, Lawton, Wakelee, Marcellus, Dowagiac, Kalamazoo, Battle Creek and Three Rivers late in the afternoon. All voted the day well spent and planned to meet again in one year as the guests of Mr. and Mrs. T. Crippin and Mr. and Mrs. Reed Earl at the home of the latter in East Valley, Decatur."
