Note: Bernard received his Social Security Card in NY. It shows his last Residence as 12574 Rhine cliff, Duchess, NY. In 1918, he was an 'able seaman' and registered for the draft in Buffalo, NY. He listed his mother and his wife, Grace, as closest relatives. His home address, when he enlisted, was 2055 10th St., Port Huron, MI.
On his draft registration form, he is described as 5' 6" tall with brown eyes and sandy hair. In the 1920 census he is shown as a brakeman on the railroad. His death record is in Book 13, p 130, where Pat Petit of Elkhart, IN is noted as the informant.
