a. Note:   William's birth certificate shows his name is Wallace, a female, and his father is a printer.
 William's death certificate lists his usual occupation as laborer for a wire mfg. company and a policeman in Clawson for a time. Actually there exists a pass issued by 'Captain of Port', sponsored by the Clawson Police Dept and validated by the US Coast Guard. It is dated July 2, 1942. His occupation: painter and boat operator, so this was probably related to his private work on the property of the Coast Guard. The pass is marked per, which likely means he would be given IDs for each visit. The pass also has his description at that time: Age 61, 5' '7", Bwn hair and eyes.
  Per Mary Kleiss Bacon: His second wife (married after 1926) was Edna Unknown, who was previously married to Richard H Blumerich.
 His third wife was Netty M Kenyon (married before 1930)
 His 'memoriam' states that, in his later years, he operated the Bacon Convalescent Home in Oxford.
