a. Note:   In 1851, the Canadian census (which was not completed until 1852) shows Edward would be three on his next birthday. The 1861 national census of Biddulph, Middlesex, Ontario listed Edward as turning 11 on his next birthday. Ten years later, 20. The 1881 Ontario census lists Edward as Edward Seahel, Irish, age 30. He and his family were living with the Hogen (Hogan) family at the time. (see LDS, on line)
  In the Michigan 1894 State census, the family lived at 2038 10th St, Port Huron and the surname is spelled Scull, age 40, a Railroad Watchman.
 The June 30, 1900 US census shows that the family lived at 832 Bancroft St and that Edward's parents were from Ireland. This census records that he immigrated to the US in 1870. The 1910 census gives his year of birth as1857 and states that he was naturalized in 1892. He was a watchman and coal tender for the Grand Trunk Railroad when his son Charles was married (1910). Edward died of electrocution in a roundhouse accident at Sarnia, Ontario (1912).
