Mary "Polly" was born c1809. One genealogist's record states she died 10 Mar 1876. Could it be Robert instead? She was a daughter of Elizabeth Bensinger of Catawissa.
1870 census - Robert and wife aren't listed in Union Twp. or Bloss Twp. Possibly the census taker missed them.

Robert is on the tax list for Norwegian Twp. in 1828, 1829, and 1830, Pottsville. His brothers, William and David, were listed for 1826 and 1827 but Robert was not listed. Robert was listed with a house on the 1828 list.
Robert's 1st wife, Hester "Hettie" Jane Dyer, was a daughter of Joshua Dyer and Sarah Vanpelt Bennett of Roaring Creek Twp., Nothumberland Co., PA - Roaring Creek Twp. is now located in Columbia Co., PA. Joshua and Sarah Dyer were buried in the Quaker Burying Ground located between Slabtown and Newlin.
Note: The Cornish name appeared in the guest list of the first Stratton reunion in 1897; for the 1910 Hamilton Twp. census is Thomas Cornish, age 58, born in England and his wife, Alice, age 56, married 34 years, mother of 11 children with 8 living, born in England; Emily, dau., age 21, born in PA; Walter, son, age 19, born in PA; Edward, son, age 14, born in PA.
