Note: Anderson was a son of Joseph Bunn (died 1857, buried Church of Christ Cemetery, Ogdensburg, Union Township, Tioga County, PA) and Catherine Prinmer (died 1876, age 74, buried Church of Christ Cemetery, Ogdensburg) 1850 - Oct. 4 - census - Bloss Twp., Tioga County, PA: Bunn - Anderson, 26, NJ Mary J., 23, PA William, 3, PA James, 1, PA 1852 - Anderson lived six years in Blossburg, Tioga County, PA, and moved to Ogdensburg, Union Township, in 1852. 1864 - Sept. 2 - Avon, NY - he enlisted in the 12th Regt. NY Cavalry, a private in Lieut. A. Cooper's Co. D and was discharged 6-23-1865 at NC. His discharge papers state he was 37 yrs of age, 5'9, light complexion, blue eyes, light hair, and was a laborer when he enrolled. In 1865 while on a raid to Kinston, NC, he was taken violently sick, becoming nearly blind. Two of his brothers served in the Civil War, Isaiah in Co. H, 106th PA Vol and Albert in Co D, 12th NY Calv. He was proprietor of Steam Saw Mill, and owner of 234 acres, lumbering and farming. 1870 - August 5 - census - Union Twp. - Tioga Co. - Liberty Post Office Anderson Bunn, age 40, farmer, b. NJ - real estate of $4000 and personal estate of $500 Mary, age 39, b. PA William, age 24 James, age 21 Frances, age 19 Jackson, age 17 Anna, age 15 Matilda, age 13 Emma, age 11 1880 - June 9/10 - census - Union Twp.: Anderson Bunn, age 53, farmer, he and parents b. NJ Mary J., age 52, she and parents b. PA Jackson, age 26, b. PA, works on farm Anna, age 21?, b. PA 1906 - His obituary from an unknown paper: Anderson Bunn died at his home in Ogdensburg on Saturday, Feb. 10, 1906, in his 79th year. In early life he married Miss Mary Jane Stratton, who survives him. Their children are: William, James, Francis and John Bunn, and Mrs. Anna Ridge. His only surviving brother is Frederick Bunn of Morris. He leaves five sisters, Mrs. Nettie Rice, Roaring Branch; Mrs. James Herman (Mary J.), Ogdensburg; Mrs. Charles Ogden (Emeline), Mrs. John Booth (Matilda), Blossburg; Mrs. Charles Wilcox (Sarah), Andover, NY. His funeral was held on Monday afternoon, Feb. 12th. Short services were held at the old homestead preceding those at the Union Church. The pall bearers were: Messrs. C. C. Landon, Marvin Tebo, Lawrence Riley, Daniel Spalding, Daniel Peake, Newell Smith, all former soldiers of the Union Army in the war of the Rebellion, in which army Mr. Bunn served with credit for three years. Mr. Bunn was an early settler in Blossburg, but about fifty years ago located on the farm upon which he died. He was an enterprising man, liveral and charitable, a good neighbor, and was highly esteemed by all who knew him. The earlier Bunns were of the Quaker faith.
